How it works

Self-experimentation is the future of science.

Randomised controlled trials are one of the most powerful tools ever invented for understanding what works at a population level on average.

But nobody is the average. When it comes to multi-domain lifestyle interventions, science reaches its limits — and your own lived experience becomes the most honest data available.

The Protocol Games is a structured community experiment, born to close this gap. We are not running a clinical trial. Instead, we're something the clinical trial can't be: a structured record of what real people actually tried, and what happened, helping you design, measure and own your evidence.

Enter the competition

Choose from the available Games, whichever aligns with your personal motivation. After creating an account, complete the system mapping so others can know you and your context better.

Declare your protocol

What you're adding, removing, or changing be it nutrition, exercise, sleep, or certain restrictions. Make it realistic, reasonable for the goal and replicable for others to follow.

Complete the baseline test

You get one session each to familiarize yourself with the tests that measure your cognitive abilities. After this, complete the whole test until the deadline and make your participation official.

Track your weekly improvement

Compete against yourself and others in custom leagues. Complete your weekly tests and talk about your experience. Don't give up even if the improvement is not immediate, the whole world is watching!

Reveal day

After the last check-in, complete the final test. Your overall improvement from baseline is revealed along with your place in the rankings. Best improvement wins. Most spliced protocol wins. Most pioneering design wins.
